HOW OLD DO I NEED TO BE TO DRIVE THE GOLF CART?
- You must be at least 25-years old to rent and/or drive
WHAT ARE THE REQUIREMENTS TO RENT A GOLF CART?
- Vehicle insurance information and a driver’s license number are required to be submitted on the rental agreement for all drivers.
WHERE AM I PERMITTED TO DRIVE MY GOLF CART?
- Golf carts are prohibited to be driven on sidewalks, Highway 98, the beach, or on streets that have a speed limit over 35-MPH. They are able to cross Highway 98 at fixed intersections, such as:
- Holiday Isle: To the Target/Winn-Dixie plaza
- Destin: Destin Commons or Silver Sands Outlet
- 30A: To the North Inlet Shops
- To see a list of prohibited areas, please visit: Low Speed Vehicle Laws
- If you are staying at Camping on the Gulf, these golf carts are not street legal. This community is located directly off of Highway 98, therefore, there are no other streets available to be driven on regardless.
HOW MANY PASSENGERS CAN RIDE ON THE GOLF CART?
- We offer four passenger, six passenger, and eight passenger golf carts and there cannot be more passengers than the size of the golf cart. For example, if you have a six passenger golf cart, it can only have six people. It is prohibited for children to sit in the lap of an adult, they must have their own seat and car seats are allowed (by law, children three and younger are required to ride in a car seat.) Please note that a car seat counts as a seat, so if you have a six passenger golf cart, you can have the car seat and five other passengers.
WHAT TIME WILL THE GOLF CART BE DELIVERED?
- We do not offer a guaranteed time of delivery on your scheduled delivery date, as our attendants have until 8:00PM CST to make all scheduled deliveries. Please note that you do not have to be at the property at the time of the delivery.
WHEN WILL THE GOLF CART BE PICKED UP?
- Our attendants begin picking up golf carts around 4:00AM CST. Please leave the golf cart in the area where it was first delivered (an area that is accessible) with the keys in the lockbox or you will be charged for a missing key ($20+tax/fees/key.)
DO I HAVE TO WEAR A SEAT BELT?
- Other than Camping on the Gulf, our carts are street legal and therefore, require seatbelts to be worn at all times.
IS THERE A WEIGHT LIMIT?
- A four passenger golf cart has a weight limit of 800-lbs, a six of 1,200-lbs, and an eight of 1,600-lbs. The weight limit on the rear seat of the cart (any size) is 300-lbs.
I RENTED A GAS GOLF CART, DO I NEED TO FILL UP THE GAS TANK UPON RETURN?
- We will provide one full tank of gas upon delivery, and there is no need to top off the tank at the end of the rental; just leave it with whatever gas is left. LDV provides one tank of gas, so if you run low and need more, that is at your own responsibility and please do not use diesel.
CAN I RENT AN ELECTRIC GOLF CART?
- To rent an electric golf cart, you must have a garage to store/charge it in and you must have written permission from your rental property manager. Please be aware that you need to charge the golf cart while not in use; the cart must be turned off to charge and do not use an extension cord.
- Half Charge: 1.5 hours
- Full Charge: 5 hours (Distance on a Full Charge: 28-30 miles)
- If you will be staying at Camping on the Gulf, you are only permitted to have electric golf carts
